My first hat, which I wore to death (and more after it) was a corduroy Kangol yachting-style cap. Still love those (still have a brown one somewhere).... wore those all Winter as an undergraduate back in the day when it never rained hard enough in Belfast for it to be worth bothering with an umbrella until it was also far too windy to wield one. As I recall, as did many businesses, they eventually decided in the Nineties that it wasn't making economic sense to manufacture in England any longer, so they moved most production to China. Not sure about the US operation. I've seen no discernible drop in quality in the Chinese made items, if that's what concerns you.

The Heritage line: 504, 507 , Spitfire -the classics are all made in Chins. There are caps made in Italy and England but in various patterns such as tweeds and window panes.
