This is a pic of my Aero Real Deal a week or so after I got it.

This is the same pocket now. I really do like the leather Aero uses and how it developes character.

fedoralover, How long did it take for the leather to age to it's current shade? It looks great.
Did it actually change color, or is that just the photography?
I really like the color in the second photo. Aero does have some incredible leather. I was on the verge of buying another A-2 from them specifically because of their leather and the high armholes on their jackets, but John Chapman's flight jackets have me sold!

It looks like you've exposed it to a bit of that wet weather up there in the Great Northwest! Looks great! I've had my Real Deal for about two years and that leather has taken the elements well. I'm kind of yearning for a Goodwear now that I've seen the pictures from the other thread...but I'll never stop enjoying my Aero though!

For some reason some of the first pics I took of my Aero turned out with a lot of red in them. I know the jacket has toned down in color some due to my impatience with the breaking in process and giving it numerous mistings with water. I just got the jacket last spring and only wore it a little over a month before it got too hot. I started wearing it again in late September.

I didn't want to wait years for it to look grainy so I have misted it and wrinkled it deliberately to bring out the grain. I haven't used hot water like some intrepid souls have, but just regular tap water. It hasn't hurt the feel of the leather at all and in my eye has enhanced the look tremendously.

I too was going to get another one until I saw the Goodwear. Now I'm on the "List", hopefully in a few months it'll be on my back.
