This is the first of many LARGE hats I'll be selling here over the next several days. All are 7 1/2 or 7 5/8, and many are Long Ovals. These are hats I have been hesitant to part with, but have finally admitted they just don't quite work for me, for one reason or another.
First up is this lovely Resistol Open Road clone. It has a replacement sweat band (done by a professional, and a good one, it appears), so date is a little hard to nail. I would guess late '50s - early '60s.
Felt is very clean and soft. One small blemish on front top of brim, but hard to even notice. I don't even think it shows on the photos. Sweat is new, clean and supple. Liner is beautiful and original. Ribbon and wind trolley in great shape. Beautiful bound brim edge.
Size is a generous 7 1/2 long oval. No size tag.
Opening measures 8 1/4 by 6 3/8.
Inner circumference- 23 5/8
Crown height (as bashed)- 4 1/2
Brim width- 2 1/2
Color- Silverbelly (beige)
