This is a very nice vintage Byer-Rolnick Resistol San Antonio, silverbelly, size 7 long oval. It has a 4” cattleman crown, 2-5/8” bound brim, and wind trolley. The hat is generally clean (certainly no hard use), sweatband is in good shape, and the liner is also in very good condition with a couple of minor spots (Resistol paper tag still present). That’s the good news, the bad news is it does have some mothing (which the ebay seller said she “did not know about”).
The greatest mothing is concentrated on the crown above the bow (I tried to show it in the last photo – not showing up too well), but there are also some divots elsewhere on the crown, and the top and bottom of the brim. There are no holes, but a number of divots – very hard to photograph. In spite of the mothing, it is otherwise a nice, solid vintage hat. If it were my size, I would likely keep it as a “beater.” But, it is not my size and the return offer by the ebay seller wasn’t worth pursuing. If you are looking for a beater or a project hat, you can have this hat for $20 shipped in the U.S. If interested or have any questions, send me a PM or email me at tpd_166@yahoo.com.
