The third hat of the current liquidation is a mid 1950s Dark Brown Lee, Size 7 1/8. Very typically styled for the era in a sort-of-but-not-really porkipie crease. Marked on the front of the sweatband as the Berklee model. On the side of the sweatband states: “DuPont water repellent Shape retaining”. Relatively more interesting than your typical fedora in that it features a back-bow, 1 & 3/8” ribbon which complements the dark brown of the felt. The edge is finished with a contrast “bronze” edge binding. The felt is very thick and robust.
The hat is marked 7 1/8 and fits like a 7 1/8 (loose on my 7 LO head). Brim measures 2” and crown as currently creased measures 3 & 3/4”. The interior measures 7 & ¾” front to back and 6 & 3/8” side to side. Interior circumference measures approximately 22 & 1/8” – 22 & ¼”.
The hat is in great condition. The brim has clearly been in the same shape for a number of years, and it doesn't look right when the front is turned up. Some marks which should come out with a good brushing. The only other issue that I have spotted is above the bow. There are 4 “roughenings” to the felt. It appears to be where there might have been stitches(?). Other than that, no notable damage that I can find. There can be no returns based on size or condition.
