For sale is an original 1940's vintage US sportscoat in a rare size 43!
Three button single-breasted front with notched lapels and beautifully rounded patch pockets. Plain back with no vent.
Butterfly lining.
The fabric is very exquisite, medium weight, rich dark blue / navy wool gabardine with a very smooth finish.
Wonderful and high quality tailor work "individually tailored" from "costum fabric" as the label denotes.
Union Label inside pocket with handwritten "43" - which may refer to year or size. For measurements see chart below
Sportscoat has perfect late-1930-40's drape cut - suppressed waist, high button stance, full drape chest and well padded shoulders (good quality soft padding and not stiff bricks).
Great opportunity for a excellent quality 1940's sportscoat for combinations with grey, cream or brownish flannel or gabardine slacks.
The tie is included.
Absolutely perfect condition - cleaned and no damages.

I have 38/40 and it fits but a bit loose at the chest and belly.
For a 40-42 it should also work - fitting comfortably and not snug, just as one would desire on a drapey sports-coat.
Ideally though for a US 42-43.
For reference the mannequin on the photos is a size 38/40 and the jacket is not pinned, but sits loose enough for a comfy-cut sportscoat.
