Most people dress to the nines in 30's and 40's eveningwear. Maybe a little bit of 20's, not so much 50's or later. I went to the first one and wore a really great rayon 40's knee-length dress, and I was underdressed. Too daytime-y. Slinky gowns are where it's at for this event!

I'm VERY excited. Not only does it look like a great time, but it will be our first time in LA!

I think I know the dress I am making. I have had the pattern sitting for a number of years waiting for an occasion. I'll post a pic later today.

The Dress???

I think this is going to be it. I may be on here in a few weeks sitting in a pile of navy blue satin completely bald from pulling my hair out...but none the less, here it goes. The dresses I have made in the past have been "easy" patterns with forgiving fabric. Fortunately I'm way to stubborn to think I can't do this.

If anyone has made this dress and can give advise, it would be appreciated.

Ahhh you can do it!,...I'll just lock you up in that room with your sewing machine untill you come out with your masterpiece,....either that or untill I hear you crash through the second story window from aggravation! lol

You have to make that dress,.. and do it well,...if not I'm Ebaying your ticket!! LOL!!! (kidding,...hmm,..or AM I??)
