Making the trip from Canada to southern Cal At the end of the month. I would love to take the opportunity to try on some jackets from our favourite manufacturers that I otherwise only get to see in pictures. Does the strong So Cal continent here in the lounge have any advice / recommendations for me to visit? Thanks in advance!

Self Edge
Mister Freedom
Stronghold
Freenote Cloth has some Himel jackets I believe too

RRL maybe for their vintage stuff, but I would not recommend their own brand leather jackets
There is also a Schott store and a lot of different vintage stores on the same street that Self Edge is on (this is also right next to Mister Freedom)

Unfortunately there isn't that much for leather jackets here. Self Edge (The Flat Head, Fine Creek, Nine Lives) and Mister Freedom are the clear standouts, but we don't have anything from Freewheelers, Aero, Eastman, The Real McCoys, etc or any of the one man makers (obviously).

The others have listed the few we have...
There are a couple of spots that deal in vintage leather jackets, mostly 60s cafe styles..but they are pricey.
I hear they sell some Simmons Bilt jackets at Proconsul...also on La Brea.
If you are here August 11, I would go the the Rose Bowl Flea Market!
Now that is an experience :).

That's a great suggestion! The Rose Bowl Flea Market did have some pretty cool vintage leather jackets the last time I was there.

Thanks for the leads guys, much appreciated.

I won’t be around for the flea market but I will sure to hit a least a couple of the recommended spots.

Really looking forward to checking out Fine Creek live and in person to see if the fit works for me and if that leather is as tasty as it appears on instagram

I have owned a few nice Gibson and Barnes jackets - they fit very large and the regular sizes have short sleeves. I need a 38T or 40T in a G&B, a 44 in most other brands.
Yep. My first A-2 was a Gibson and Barnes “historical” model. My size 46 has a 27” p2p! It is so oversized on me that I could actually wear any one of my other jackets underneath it comfortably.

Bates, cal leather, and z custom are all on the southern end of california near la. Theyre the real deal as far as riding jackets, not reproduction companies, they made the originals that everyone else is copying.
