Dale I prefer a good whisky!

Got any J. Garcia ties?
I prefer vodka myself.....but I usually stick to beer. I'm a lot easier to get along with that way.

I got no J. Garcias. With the exception of a plain black tie I bought about 20 years ago for my grandma's funeral, everything I have is 60s or earlier. Ol' Jerry was hittin his stride, but I don't think neckties were his thing back then. Heck, it's been almost a year since last time I wore one. That was to my daughter's ballet recital last May. But like Bob said, they're a lot cheaper and easier to collect than hats. Or boots. Those Western models are really what got me started, as I already collected boots and fancy Western shirts. But like any rabbit hole you find yourself going down........

I guess if I collected ties I would collect them for the art.

Ties.....boots, shirts, hats, any of it....that's the reason I go it. If I just wanted something for no other purpose than to put on my body I could save a lot of scratch and buy that **** at walmart.

A lot of things I collect are for their historical significance. I do think of most of my boots as being in the art category however.

I do have a neat tie bar I'll post in the other thread.

Today some of my grandpa's German ties...

About the first I'm not sure: very soft & fluffy fabric - think it's some silky mix
Measurements (51 1/2" x 2 3/4") said mid/late 50's - concerning the construction I'd say it should be earlier (20's/30's?) - What do you think?

Second one: acetate? - 51 1/2" x 2 3/4" - certainly mid/late 50's - "Fritz Franke - Berlin"

Last one: rayon? - 49 1/4" x 4" - 30's/40's - "Gliata" - Are there any infos about the manifacturer out there?
