Yeah, the birds is nice. Probably late 1930s, no?
But the one i'm really interested in is the one at bottom left. Ghostfaces inside circles. Red John-esque? (dunno if anyone watches The Mentalist or not)
I have another lot on the way: a bunch of 30 that "were found in a plastic bag; no attempt to press or clean them." There are a bunch there that look great and probably 1930s. I think they're all probably of the same age; i'll post here when I get the lot.

More against early 50s acetate ties than Towncraft, really. But … not being a great fan of those early 50s ties, I used to see a LOT of Towncrafts that I just despised from that era.
That's because they were ugly and thin.
They were still wide in the early'-50s, JP, and don't qualify for your landfill solution...
That's true but by the time Leave it to Beaver came along, Ward was wearing landfill ties.
^^Not that type of "tie," thank you...
All right, since you asked, here's another bunch of ties from my thrift store finds.
Left to right: Haband, Arrow, "King Size" by Spur, "Sir" by Botany
Left to right: no tag, Wembley, no tag, "The Californian" by Sunshine
That is actually a great idea to get rid of ugly 70s ties. Shoe tie instead of landfill tie.

Here is one from the back of the closet..
