If you find it, be sure to take lots of photos!

In other, Singer-related news, I purchased six steel Singer-brand bobbins at the flea-market today, along with two packets of original vintage Singer needles, in their green paper packets. $10.

No attachments yet...*grumble-grumble-grumble*

Lady said she'd get them next week. Usual story. Forgot. Sick. Car wouldn't start. Usual jumbo...

Here's what I bought:

Half the bobbins I already had, and I bought two of the three green needle-packets today.

Rummage sales today. Found this English Deco period hammered pewter bowl. According to the marks, it dates between 1926 and 1939.

Thanks, Shangas. It looks larger in the photo than it really is...it's about 4" high and 8" long. It would look sharp cradling a bunch of grapes, I would think.

The colour of the buttonholer case has anyone wondering, singer had two styles of foot shanks, low shank which most machines were took the green case buttoholers and the slant machines where the needle bar and the pressure bar were on a slanted angle took the reddish or maroon case buttonholers slant attachment. The machine picture previously was a singer 15 88, with a motor attached on back with motor flywheel which is smaller and solid unlike a treadle flywheel which is larger and has spaces in it for balance and also when used as a handcrank so the drive can fit into one of the spaces. Slant machines made in that period where the singer 301a slant needle, have a set of 301 cufflinks awarded to singer salesman that sold many slant needles machine to join the slant needle club. So actually the reddish buttonholer would fit the 15 88 picture as its a low shank. 59lark

It's amazing that you're thrift-shopping in a smaller community and come up with these terrific finds, Tom. Those clocks are great!

Not really surprising. Small towns and rural areas are really the places to find stuff anymore. I get the sense that many of the dealers out here find most of their stuff on buying trips back east. Where I am even the so-called "estate sales" are a real joke.
