This is one of those free-range birds! I also made cornbread fruit stuffing, mashed sweet potatoes with maple and mashed potatoes! Gotta run! :D

I haven't eaten meat in decades... but this is tempting. Cornbread fruit stuffing. Mmmmm.

It's really really good! It's got golden and red grape raisins, chopped dried cherries, apricot and apples along with celery onions & spices with crumbled cornbread and white bread. :)

Ugh. Carb overload. I'm pooped.

At the far right is a platter of mini crab cakes and fried oysters as appetizer. Stuffing is with sausage, dried cranberries, walnuts and apples, with some kale for color and interest. Mashed with garlic & sour cream. There were also scratch biscuits, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, creamed onions and pumpkin and blueberry pies.

It was a 9.5 pound bird. Only three adults and two children for dinner.

Call me metrosexual, but I think a beautiful table spread is almost as satisfying as the meal itself. That is just a beautiful image, Scotrace. Is that Melrose Abbey on the dishes?
Here's how the table at my GF's folks' place before we sat down. All the nice china was out.

I carved the turkey. The result looked like the bird had been attacked by a pack of rabid hyenas. But it was tasty, nobody choked or swooned. Hope everyone else had as nice a day as we did. And for the last 45 minutes of the day, happy You're Welcomesgiving Day, everyone!

The man is amazing. It took him all of 7 minutes to find that image. Looks tasty! Hope to see you Saturday night in Manhattan, Fletch!

Oh My .... That looks so much like my grandmothers place and all the Thanksgivings I remember as a kid! All it needs is their Airedale begging at the table. Thanks for the image!

I agree! Your table looks magnificent. A groaning and hospitable board. We had just 3 adult eaters, so we didn't fuss. The dishes are Johnson Bros. Old Britain Castles. Got them at Lazarus in Columbus in the late 80's.
