An orpaned suit jacket

Just picked up this nice, vent-less, DB jacket. Has a couple of very small holes, which can be repaired fairly easily. When I first saw it, I thought late-'40s, but now I'm not so sure. It's squared-off, rather than rounded-off at the bottom, doesn't have a low V-Line, and the lapels (which aren't huge)very slightly curve towards the top, all of which say pre-Bold Look to me. In addition, it is of that smooth wool texture that was common during WWII. There is no union label on it, and I don't know anything about the seller. What think ye?

The more I look at that 1960s plaid sport jacket I posted earlier the better it looks. Not only is the plaid great (and loud) but the construction is pretty good quality as well (matching arm and body patterns, etc.). It just looks right.

Note the interesting gathered section just below the pocket. Both skirt pockets have this feature.

I really like this shot. Not only does it show good detail but it's also the last pic my camera took before dying.

Did plaid kill my camera?

Now the big question is what to wear with it?

I was thinking medium gray trousers, don't really know about shirt and tie. I'm not much for a black shirt.

Wearing an open collar might work.

It definitely has the pre-bold look. Did it come with a union tag?
