Here are three vintage hats I recently obtained.
The first one is a Dobbs. It appeared to be unbashed and unused when I got it. I gave it a diamond bash. I estimate the date to be from the 1930s. The sweatband says "Dobbs Twenty".
Brim: 3"
Crown: 5 1/2"
Ribbon: 2"
Size: 7 1/8"
The second is a Stetson, a Royal Stetson. I got this one for my birthday, it was a great surprise. It's a beautiful light blue. The original bash is very light, the bow at the back. I estimate it to be from the late-1940s through the 1950s.
Brim: 2 1/4"
Crown: 5"
Ribbon: 2"
Size: 7 1/8"
The last is my everyday fedora, I've had this one for 2 months and worn it almost everyday. It is a Churchill, worn with plenty of character. It is a "Town and Country", the color is "London gray" and originally cost $16.50 according to the tag under the sweatband. Date unknown, my guess is 1940s-1950s.
Brim: 2 1/4"
Crown: 5"
Ribbon: 1 3/4"
Size: 7" (kind of tight for my 7 1/8" head but still fits)
Cheers,
Billy
