Just thought I'd share some shots that my friend Hugo from the 20s to 40s Style Syndicate sent me. Hugo and I are good friends as his brother lives in Perth. So when he is in town, we vintage shop til we drop! These guys take their vintage very seriously and with Hugo, everything has to be just right. He's been dressing this way for 20 years!

Matt, that avatar my friend...

...has me hypnotised every time I look into those piercing, mesmerising eyes of yours!! haha! I have to keep saying my mantra..."Paddy, whatever you do, DO NOT LOOK at Matt's eyes...!!!!" Then...That dangerous voice in my head says..."buy another A-2 Paddy, you know you want to, don't resist, it's inevitable...buy it!"

It's really cool to see so many people dressed like that at once. not something you usually get to see outside of period set movies. Thanks for posting them!

Oh my! How truly fabulous!

I must say, I'm in love with Hugo's casual look in that last picture. Who is that reminding me of?

Wrong image, I'm sure... but I keep thinking it's bringing up the Chairman from some early movie. I've watched so many that I have no idea what the name could be.

Agreed! I knew of these cats "Over There" and wish I could be with them! It is such a nice thing to see so many people dressed correctly! *Sigh* it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Matt, your right!!! That's Gordon all right! Funny, I had a feeling he'd be in there!

swingal, how come all these like minded folks aren't posting here at the lounge? It'd be great to have them here. Do they know about the Fedora Lounge?

Yes, I feel the same. I wish I knew a group like that too.

Not sure why they dont post here. I suppose they feel they don't need to as they have enough people in the club all over Europe to chat to about stuff. A lot of them have been doing this since they were in their teens and take it very seriously. For instance, if you dress in military gear, if it is not correct you will be picked up on it. I went with Hugo to see Pearl Harbour (yes, the poxy newer one) years back and he tore the way the uniforms were worn to shreds. Wrong jackets, wrong insignias or placed in the wrong spot, tilt of a hat incorrect. Said it was 'unpatriotic' for them to get it wrong for a movie of that calibre, and I have to agree.

The 20s to 40s Style Syndicate have their own website which is in German and English. http://www.return2style.de/
You can see what they are up to there and find out what Balls and outings are coming up. If you are in the UK, it would be wroth travelling over there to the Trocadero Ball which is in October. They have it every year. http://www.return2style.de/homepage.htm

Heres some more photos Matt:

Heres some shots of everyone going to the Trocodero ball. They all catch the train and go to the mountains. The club fills the whole carriage!

love the sunglasses in the pics...

Any links to companies that reproduce sunglasses with a 20s/30s/40s look to them? The girl with the John Lennon type specs has really got her act together...class act!!

Hey Paddy, I'm not sure there is any one making repros of vintage eye wear but, you can find the originals on ebay here and there. They come up a lot for bid on there. Some of which are new old stock. Vintage sunglasses are not too hard to find if you know where to look.

Since you're closer to this club, you should look into meeting them! They could help you find this stuff.

I'll send you what ever links I find for vintage sunglasses if you like Paddy.
