Seersucker question

Can you habd wash a seersucker suit? I took it to the cleaners and they didn't get some of the dirt out. I was hoping to soak it in some oxyclean to whiten it s but I but don't want to ruin it. I know the dirt can be removed it's just from sitting in am open closet in a warehouse too long. I soaaked some silk ties in oxyclean that were old and yellowed and they came out great.

I put my seersucker jacket in the machine on a delicates cycle if I need to get marks out. Really how you dry it is more important than how you wash it. It needs to dry slowly on a decent hanger that suits its shape and won't deform the shoulders.

I've oxycleaned seersucker pants before & it took out some of the gray from the stripes, therefore leaving large white spots on the pants...I would spot check it...under the cuff or something like that before you commit. Washing them with COLD water & soap might do it though
