Seen any kids dressed like this lately?

Saw this sign near home and thought I'd share. Haven't seen kids running around in knickers near my neighborhood.

I believe they are meant to be short trousers in that picture, short trousers being the garments of a child, therefore reinforcing the visual part of the "children playing" sign?

We had that sign on my street when I was growing up -- and not only was he wearing knickers, he was rolling a hoop. You don't see too much of that anymore -- there's no place to plug a hoop in.

Yes, seening as they are above the knee I guess they are short pants. The sign is old though considering that modern signs are more of an androgynous stick figure symbol.

Kid's don't go out much to play around here and I live near a park and next door to a school. [huh]

It aint because it's snowing. I guess it's the Xbox.

The sign at the school near the road seems pretty gender and clothing neutral at any rate.
