Seam / Fold Construction

Question to all-knowing forum members: How is called this type of seam construction on Joe McCoys Car Coat?

I have seen this only 2x before, and only on original 50's Jackets (Buco J-22 and H-D Townsman). Any inputs are highly appreciated.

I'm not certain but I think it's called a double top stitched seam, Aero do them on the backs of some of their jackets.
