Schott Rendezvous Wool Plaid Jacket

I saw this jacket on the Schott website, and I don't remember seeing it before. Looks sharp. Nice buffalo plaid wool jacket with cotton lining. Leather pocket trim, cuff straps, and waist tabs. Adjustable cuffs and waist. Nickel zippers and pull rings on pocket zippers. I emailed Schott and they told me the XL is 24" across the chest, so it's not slim-fit. Perfecto Brand label. Made in USA. Nice jacket under $500.

I've always coveted the Aero waterfront jacket but I'm just not a fan of the knits, or the price. This one really strikes a cord with me. Thx and damn you for posting @Joel Shapiro

I know Aero has new cuts, but comparing those two shows why I have only one Aero here. Wide and don't fit my torso well.
That schott has a nice taper. I'm not getting any more boxy jackets.

Please let us know if the shell is 100% wool and the weight of the wool--probably expressed as 24 oz., 22 oz. or something similar. I like the way it tapers at the waist and isn't just a bag style.

I have the new Aero waterfront with almost identical looking colour and pattern and love it. To get the best fit is go one size smaller with adjustments for sleeve and body length. Normally I'm a size 40 and had to go down to an adjusted 38 to get a nice fit. One of my best fitting jackets at the moment. With Aero I can get customisation, personalised service, options and inch sizing rather than vague S, M or L etc which is a big deal when spending that kind of money. The Schott is strictly off the rack and the online sizing assistant is useless. The Schott looks great and a pleasing alternative to Aero but also pricier than the Aero. Living in Australia it will cost me an extra $145 delivered. Far better value and service for me with Aero. Style wise I would be happy with either.

Jacket arrived today. It's very nice, lightweight wool and I'd say it's cut pretty trim. It has some nice features, leather backed collar that snaps down, leather cuff and waist strap. The lining is really comfortable. It's cotton in the body and a silk of some sort in the sleeves.
It's a bit shorter than I'd have thought, measures about 25.5" in back, with a 1.5" drop in front. I quite like it and think I'll get enough wear to justify keeping it. I run hot so I think I'll get a good three seasons out of it. Barring the most horrid cold days. I purchased a size large. Sorry for the pics. Not sure why I have the moonlighting glow going but I can assure you Al Jarreau was not playing when these were taken.

Looks great. They've been selling really nice wool jackets like this to the Japanese market for some years, never quite understood why they only sold them there.

Love it. Sorry I cost you $500, but it's a sweet jacket. I love the shape of the back. Vintage cut, not slim fit — broad in the chest and narrow in the waist. Looks dynamite. Wear it in the best of health. Can it go below freezing? Also, does it indicate if it's 100% wool or a wool blend?

For reference, Schott told me the back length on the extra large is an inch longer (26.5").

Thanks guys. I think with something underneath it would be ok below freezing, something more than a t-shirt.
There was no info about the weight or composition of the wool. I can check the tag again when I get home.
My only gripe would be a chest pocket. I think one chest zip pocket would be great. The handwarmers are lined with a heavy cotton. And they are easy to access and really functional. It's a really easy jacket to wear and I've worn it to work all week with the March like temps in Chicago. This is something a bit different for me and I have to say I really dig it.
