I own a fantastic new Schott 118, the softer but still tough naked cowhide cousin of the 618HH and can only recommend Schott's fine workmanship and quality.

This is the jacket Brando wore in the Wild One (not sure about the leather, but it was a 618), and I'm curious if anybody has one and can comment on the fit, craftsmanship and leather. If you have a picture, that would also be greatly appreciated. The price is right and it appears to have a nice slim fit. Thank you.

Hi Joel;

Nice jacket...........but it won't hold a candle to the Langlitz Columbia in HH that you desire. Save up the difference and spring for what you want. I think you would be settling if you pulled the trigger on the Schott and you would always ponder "Gee I wonder what it's like owning the Langlitz..."

You deserve the best!

Thanks, Coffee. I think I will save up for the Langlitz. They're trying to talk me out of the horsehide, though. They prefer the goat.

Can anyone speculate why none of the Schott horsehide jackets have a zip out liner, whereas, the cowhide leather jackets of the same style do?

Actually, none of the classic Perfectos -- 118, 618 and or 613 cowhide and steerhide versions -- have zip-out liners. Those all have quilted lining.

The jackets that do have zip-out liners are the cafe racers 141 and 641, which may be the ones you are referring to. The 641 Horsehide version, however, does not have the zip-out liner, just the quilted lining. I think it's because the horsehide jacket sits real snug and the liner probably would demand a wider, looser cut.

I called to order the 618 HH but they said it would be months away. They convinced me to get the steerhide. I love it and I ride. Traded my Royal Enfield for a Triumph Bonneville. The Triumph Association web site is how I found this place. I've always been a jeans and t-shirt guy but I starting to reconsider.
