SB Biker Jacket (pics a plenty)

Received my SB Biker jacket end of last week. I am very pleased with it. Details as follows;
Ranger horse hide (Chrome, tanned in Germany). Standard except the Riri zipper. I would describe the hide as mid weight (although jacket feels quite weighty), soft and smooth to the touch. It is not particularly shiny more satin I would say. My only hesitation in the ordering process was the belt vs side buckles. Initially I went with the buckles but thought this would upset the balance of the jacket and you guys agreed when I put my uncertainty to you. The obvious disadvantage of the belt is the buckle might scratch my fuel tank, but this is easily over come with a tank protector.
Dealing with SB was a pleasure. Wait was around 6 weeks. Thanks to Debs and Moira who made the jacket (Moira also made my HWM when she was with Aero).
Here's some not too flattering pics....

A few weeks into the order I saw this waistcoat on SB's sale page. I am not particularly into waistcoats but the price was so good I couldn't resist it. Like hats I always think these look cooler on other people and not me! I shall likely as not just wear it in the house or under a jacket/coat. I love it though. Here's a couple of pics.....

I wear leather vest too. I think it looks great.

Jacket looks like a great fit. Congratulations! It at first stroke me as a bit long but upon closer inspection I actually think you just have a very long and lean upper body because it ends just right where I like my jackets to end.

The vest looks cool, too. Russet goatskin? I share your feelings on vests but I think you can pull it off under a leather overcoat!

They must have printed a heck lot of those Alexander Leathers labels to still be using them on Simmons Bilt products.

History aside, Good looking jackets and a great fit on both.

Hi Mark,
I actually don’t understand your hesitation sometimes as the vest looks superb on you! Of course, I understand that it’s a look you have to get used to yourself. But from here it looks perfect and more than wearable, even outside with other people seeing it, haha.

I had the same impression as jacketjunkie at first but as you’re wearing low waisted jeans, it needs to be a little longer. The jacket fit is spot on and I’d love to see it after some months of wear.

Cool

Jacket and the vest, don't be self conscious wearing the vest, you pull it off really well and it looks natural and great on you!

I think the jacket and vest look marvelous. Not a style I can pull off but you manage it quite well. Congrats. I too prefer belts to side buckles (which never seem to stay fastened tightly) so in the end I think you made the right choice.

Thanks guys for all your nice comments. I initially thought the jacket a little short but my jeans have a habit of falling down a tad! However I wouldn't of minded an inch longer on the back for when riding the bike. Over-all I am delighted with it.
Yes I was surprised to see the Alexander label but then again it was a trainee made waist coat so maybe using up old stock was in order. I did wear it too the supermarket the other day with the same shirt too, boy did I feel self conscious! Just a case of getting used to wearing it I guess. Thanks again.

We'd all like an extra inch, but it's really more about how you wear the jacket - not the length. :p

I'm not usually a fan of an attached belt but I think this one, with that heavy ass buckle looks fantastic (much better than the side buckles would have). It's really a nice jacket man, and the length to me is spot on perfect.

Great jacket fit. I like the jacket length covering the pants belt, never looks good with jeans and belt below bottom of jacket. The belt on jacket gives good air seal, side buckles never stops the cold air.

Did you plan the shirt around the jacket lining or the jacket lining around the shirt? :)

Totally ace. You should not fear a thing. If you looked off, we'd tell you. You look totally natural and cool as a witch's freezer.

Ha,ha, nope coincidence honestly! Have to admit the shirt is a little loud. The lining is stock so SB chose it, think most of those tartans look pretty good though.
