Hello Gents,

A colleague at work has just made a winter/fall purchase off of the bay by way of a charcoal grey leather single breasted trench coat with what appears to be a button in rabbit fur lining. I tried said jacket on today & have never worn anything so heavy...must have been twice the the weight of my Irvin :p. You'd have burnt a few calories moving about in that baby :D.

Any ideas where it might have come from? Military? All comments gratefully received.

Eastern European, just as German, leather coats tended to be incredibly heavy and quite rigid.
This one looks civilian to me... 1960's would be my guess.
A military piece ought to have some stamps or labels. Probably also some holes/loops for epaulettes.
