Royal Stetson and Richman Brothers quality

Hello, all! First post for me here at the Fedora Lounge, though I've been lurking for a couple weeks.

My question to all of you is on the Royal Stetsons and the Richman Brothers hats. I am looking at acquiring a few hats on e-Bay, but was wondering about the quality. Are they fur felt or wool? Are they a pretty standard quality or do they vary from hat to hat and year to year? Is the Royal Stetson an actual Stetson line? I don't want to get stuck with a knockoff!

Well, you have come to the right place. I have both.
I like Richman Brothers hats, clothes and just about everything they used to sell. Their hats are just as nice as a Royal Stetson. They might have even been made by Stetson. Lee and Mallory also made hats for other labels too though.
The Royal Stetson is a real Stetson---don't worry. The thing to be worried about is the Stephen Stetson hats. They are not real Stetsons. They were around at the same time but their felt is not the same.
Both Richman Brothers and Stetson hats were fur felt hats.
What kind of hats are you thinking of getting?

P.S. The Richman Brothers looks to be quite a nice hat if it is the one I think it is---looks 40s-50s.

The one I was looking at is over in about ten minutes, and just went out of my price range! It is a nice looking hat, but hopefully there will be others.
