Well behind the front lines!
I saw a recent magazine article with some photos of this car sitting behind an Amtrak train recently in Penn station: http://www.luxuryrailvacation.com/ I must admit that would be incredible to ride a car like this down the Northeast Corridor. These private cars are pretty much the only older RR experience you'll be able to have like this as many "dinner trains" and larger private operations are going under very fast. The Grande Deluxe (formerly the American Orient Express) folded up a few months ago for good and dinner trains are dropping like flies all over the country.
For example, where I live, two dinner trains have gone bust in the past 5 years. The most interesting was the "Golden Pacific" which ran with bi-level commuter coaches (so clean you could eat off the floors) and the only Reading T-1 locomotive still running. It didn't even last a complete season. [huh]
