Hello Gents,
I have been admiring some of my newest aquisitions and have been noticing the pleats on the bow of the ribbon. Interesting:
Lee No pleats
Dobbs 2 pleats
Stetson 1 pleat
Resistol 3 pleats
I'm curious, Does the number of pleats in the bow signify a certain level of quality? 1 pleat is good, 3 pleats is better?
Or is it signify a certain company, ie: Stetson is always one pleat in the middle, Dobbs is always 2.?
Also I've been noticing several hats recently on ebay with the bow in the back. Is this a factory mistake or is this a trend that fell by the wayside quickly?
Anyone care to shed some light?
