Resistol Straw Fedora...

I missed out on the Adam panama fedora this weekend, but I managed to pick up this Resistol. It should fit well with some of my 50's attire at the company BBQ this summer.

Cool looking Summer hat!

That hat looks pretty good to me. From experience, I think I notice one potential problem. See how the hat is laid flat while the snap brim is down? It made a little pucker on a couple of used vintage straws I've bought and its a real bear trying to steam them out. My guess is that the non-hatters don't recognize they are damaging the hat. Anyone got a trick to fix that "pucker"? I tried steam and stretching but I can still see it...perhaps my own optical illusion?

Thanks gentlement! If it does have that little pucker I see if I can iron it with a damp hankey on it to soften the varnish and then reshape it & let it set that way. It could also be something that will just pop out with a little poke.
