I won this jacket and emailed some pics to Aero, Ken kindly replied to confirm it is indeed an early (within first 100 made, circa 1984/5) Aero. It looks even better in the flesh and fits comfortably. After fixing the pocket and a good treatment of Pecards it is ready to wear again. It is testimony to how good some of those early repros were that it looks like an original, in fact, it is nearly as old as the originals were when I first started collecting them! (from Ken's Thrift Shop in Battersea!). With all the buzz and occasional hype around about current repros and their vintage/war-horse/victory hides it just shows Aero were getting it right way back then and years of wear really adds character to a jacket. I am a great fan of the early (vintage!) Aero, Eastman and Sefton A-2's, it's where we started having a choice of pretty accurate repro A-2's.
