Repro Seabees Tee

I had this one made up today. My local shop really does amazing work. I used a real vintage tee which was hard to line up on the machine perfectly, so the image came out slightly crooked. Makes it look more authentic methinks.

Here's the original in action, from January 1st, 1944:

Very cool. I have an Uncle who was a WWII Pacific-Theater Seabee, and I'm sure he'd want one if he was in better shape these days. Did you just print a one-off, or are you selling those anywhere?

Well, I just had one made for myself, but if there was enough interest I'm sure I could do a few more.

I might be interested in one myself. I’m tempted to point out the original photo shows a much larger image on the shirt, but those shirts are probably what we’d call a men’s small size now and they wore shirts much tighter then.

You're right. The shirt I used is vintage, but an XL, so maybe a modern L. I suppose I could have made the image larger. I'll ask next time.

a china marines sweat shirt i made for another friend

...modeled after this one that "Transport" is wearing in the movie "Gung Ho!"

though i was wondering how long it would take for some one to do the seabee/tarawa t-shirt..since i first saw the life photos...

white hats are fitted to specific sizes...plus they stay in most positions that you put them...though that guy's cover is a bit far back on his head...i used to wear mine much like the trombone player next to the bass drum...

Savoy6, great shirts!! I believe Paddy has had a few cool ones made up too.
I actually just came back from getting that same Seabees image done on a thin long sleeve V insert sweatshirt from Old Navy. The color is off white and has slubs, so it has a vintage look to it. It came out good!

aw, my dad was a Fighting Seabee. Missing for 6 mo. during WW11. My mom had 2 young children at the time. They found him in a hospital finally with Malaria. Papau, New Guinea.
