Recent Summer "Safari" News!

Well last weekend, like the idiots that we are, several of us braved the triple digit heat in the Texas hill country for our summer "safari". Arrived Friday afternoon we set up camp under a large shade tree. We hunted Saturday morning, bagging two rhinos, a buff, and one elephant. Then retired to the shade of a large tree for the remainder of the weekend. Enjoyed a great meal under the awning. Pipes and cigars! And plenty to drink. Temp was 106F when the below pic was snapped!

We are trying to plan an event where we can invite those who are brave enough to participate, can come. Amenities are limited. We have one spot in mind, but we are working on another. Currently our little group is limited to participants due to landowner regs. However, the spot I want to work on is where we'd have ample property, river frontage, AND a willing and absolutely craaaaazy landowner who would really enjoy this kind of thing. Due to fire bans in place and heat concerns we bent our rules a bit for this event and allowed a few out of place items and things.

So watch for a future posting!

Same ranch, last February's Safari. That white stuff under my feet is what's left of the rare snow storm we had the day before!!!!! I suppose we'll tolerate extremes for a good time! LOL!

Now that I have my own canvas to sleep under, I'll be looking forward to an announcement on this. Especially if it's during a milder part of the year weather wise.
