Hi,
I am looking at an RCA Victor 28T Radio a guy has for sale near me.
I am trying to get him to sell it for $35.
Is this a good price?
Its all original, with everything there, knobs, everything.
Is this a 1945 or before?
I want one for my WWII Office I am constructing. So it needs to be 1945 or before.
Thank you
Chad

Ok mug, here's the skinny!

I looked up an RCA 28T on Google... and saw this little set:

And, it's a '41 model... so, if you like the look of it and you can get it for $35... GO FOR IT! A nice little table set like that should be worth that in non working shape... if it works, offer a little more.

Now, if I were you, I'd shop a little... there are so many great radios to be had out there... Philco's, Emerson's, GE's, Zenith's... the list goes on! You may wanna try looking up on eBay any Airline or Silvertone models... Airline was the Montgomery Ward's brand name... and Silvertone was Sears. Most lower priced radios came from department stores of the era. They were common to see in most homes of the war time era! Also, they were pretty good radios!

But, if you're sold on the RCA 28T, buy it... and if it turns out not to be what you wanted, well, you could always sell it and find another!

As a side note, radios along with other appliances for consumer use were not being produced starting in mid ’42 to late ’45 and those made in ’45 were really ’46 models.
