Raw Selvedge Bleeding

I bought a pair of raw selvedge, sanforized 21 oz. jeans. I soaked them in cold water overnight. I hung them up to dry for the whole next day. Today I wore them for the first time. When I took them off, I had a decent amount of dye on my legs. Not a ton. For those of you in the know: How long will this dye bleed on me and my surroundings?

A whole night of soaking? They still fit?! :D ;) the dye transfer you are experiencing is totally normal and will subside after (I don't know) a dozen wears or so. Your tighty whiteys will all be robin blue (as will your mom's prized white sofa)!

Thanks bretron. I appreciate the info a lot. Yes, they did fit after the soak and didn't appear to shrink significantly.

Yeah, the dye bleed is normal, the intensity depends a bit on the brand and treatment of the tissue. I had it really bad with a pair of Momotaro dark tone jeans, had to really pay attention to where I sat and the guys at the gym were mightily amused. In the end I yielded and washed them with water to which some vinegar was added, that fixed the issue. My Flat head jeans also had this but fortunately to a lesser extent. Still, it was worth it :)

I was told I could only use one chair for a while

Fortunately the chair was cheap and it came off quite easily with a bit of soapy water.

I spoiled my RW Hawthorne IRs with selvedge. Got most of it out, washed the jeans and same thing happened again.

Now I can't be bothered cleaning the boots and am unable to wear them as God intended.
