Here’s something you’ll virtually never see outside of a 1930s men’s clothing catalog: a vintage late ‘30s tweed sportcoat with a pleated chest, and a pleated back that’s not belted! Who else but “MOVIECRAFT – STYLED AND TAILORED IN HOLLYWOOD” would make such a gem?

The green tweed fabric has a large herringbone pattern enhanced by red, white and blue flecks.

Pictures worth a thousand words:

As you say Marc, the pictures are worth a thousand words. Great to see the detail in the fabric, which catalog scans, valued though they be, can't depict like a photo of the actual garment. Thanks for sharing this very cool find!

One of the most beautiful sportcoats I've ever seen. I love the look of that pleated chest and back... and the fabric... and the color...and anything else I've failed to mention.
Thank you for sharing.
