So I guess this now makes me a hat dork, but just got back from the New Prince Caspian/ Chronicles of Narnia movie. There were some quick clips in the beginning and end (set in the 30's I think) with some cool hats. Now I need to go back and glean through the first movie :^). Cool looking fedora in the end with a nice, thick brown ribbon....

It's always entertaining to get caught up in a new interest and then start seeing things as a result that you hadn't been looking for prior.
Now I find myself re-screening a lot of movies I've watched before - like the latest King Kong picture - just to concentrate on the hats and other period attire.

Should be '40 or '41 (which I suppose one could argue is pretty much the late '30s). The initial plot of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe has the kids being sent out of London because of the Blitz. The second story is set about a year later.
