2005 ANJ-4 from Eastman with Seal Warhorse Facings. This is my second Eastman ANJ-4 ( the other being a Fenland One which is a very different sheepskin)
No modifications other the Warhorse ... pretty much a stock Eastman .... in terms of the fleece the coating they use on this is more mat and wrinkly than the fenland skin and feels tougher wearing still soft and pliable but feels stiffer. This hasn't seen much wear and as you can see is in amazing condition ( virtually unworn). Usual Eastman quality of construction and little details like the Crown zipper.

With regards to fit .. while I appreciate the view on her (as always) I DONT NEED FIT ADVICE .. I know what I like and I know what fits me .... this fits me and I like it :D

Any way on the basis that a picture paints a thousand words .. I thought you guys would like to see it

You're so lucky you have the weather for those things. I'm not kidding when I say that I may eventually move somewhere cold just to be able to wear one of those! Beautiful.

Definitely don't need any advice on the fit. Great jacket, shame I can only wear mine 4-5 times a year.

Superb jacket! I miss that style of the AN-J-4 Eastman produced for so many years, though I also like the new style. I recall seeing photos of the first AN-J-4 Eastman made back in the late 1980s and how impressive it was to me in capturing authenticity. They are really utilitarian jackets that look great, but in the public's eye, WWII AAF sheepskin is a B-3 and not an AN-J-4, so the AN-J-4 has always been the overlooked sibling regarding sales.

Are you sure this is Warhorse?
The Warhorse version on the Eastman site has button pockets. I think Gary did make a very small number of snap pocket jackets with the earlier less grained WH so it could be one of those.
Can we see some shots of the older jacket please ?

Positive John ... was purchased directly from Eastman with this spec. ( pm me and I can give you the original owners details - who is a volunteer engineer at Duxford - and the original purchase details etc ...I also bought his A-10 gloves :D ) and you are correct it is one of the earlier Warhorse models before the button pocket. The Warhorse is much darker than the original dark russet hide and not as pliable. The sheepskin is VERY different to the Fenland stuff which has a MUCH softer hand and much more drape.

I'll pm you the photos of the early jacket ( I think I sent you some a year ago) .. there's lots on here of it .... Gary had a look at it 2 years or so ago and confirmed the materials / year etc.

This will be my wearer :)

I though I recognised James Hughes jacket. I had been in contact with him for months with a possibility of buying it but the journey put me off. He did say it was from a very small batch. You got a real bargain there so enjoy it !
Do you need two though.......

What does the "Q" stand for?...Quarter 1? Does this mean you'll accumulate 20 new jackets this fiscal year?

It's normally about 6-12 per year ... some years higher, some lower. This was a particularly productive quarter - 1 direct from the manufacturer, 1 from the sale pages, 3 by auction or Ebay :D

Some get sold on ... some hang around ...... but they never stay forever .. as JL said " There's no such thing as a keeper!".
