Greetings fellow loungers,
A few days ago I posted a few quick indoor fit pics (outdoor/natural light pictures posted below) of an (almost new) Black Aero FQHH Cafe Racer jacket that I picked up from Ribdoner on the classified section of this site.
I had posted that I was in the market for a 48/50 Black HH Aero Cafe Racer. A few days went by and I didn't think it was ever going to happen. I had already started looking on the Aero site to begin planning my custom order. I have broad shoulders and long(ish) arms. I had previously owned a Brown FQHH Aero Sheene in a 44, but it was much too restrictive, so I sold it on here, too.
Ribdoner (Thank you Ribdoner!) contacted me via email and said that he had 'just' the right jacket for me. After a few photos swapped and some questions answered I pulled the trigger on the purchase. He had described the jacket as a 48 (to my horror it was a 46!---> but it worked out great!) with 36.25" sleeves (my true size is a 44), so I was still a bit uncertain if it would exactly fit me, but I gave it a shot anyway.
When I first pulled the jacket out of the box and tried it on, I could smell the leather. It was stiff (like new) and had much more room in it. It seemed, at first, to be a little big through the body, but I had just dropped a chunk of change on this jacket so I kept putting it back on.
I finally wore it outside of the house and began to get compliments. One came, then another, then another. This is something that I rarely had received with my brown jacket (strangely).
Now that I have been wearing the jacket I find it more and more comfortable and I cannot wait for the jacket to truly begin to take on my body shape and to begin to develop creasing and patina.
The interior of the jacket is black cotton drill and it is noticeably less warm tan my previous jacket that had the wool tartan liner.
My old jacket was too tight in the shoulders, on my forearms, and allowed for almost no flexibility when I was reaching for the steering wheel of my vehicle or handlebars on a motorcycle.
I honestly feel like I have hit the jackpot with this new jacket. It is beginning to feel like a second skin for me, I'm getting compliments all the time, and it (to me) just looks bad-ass. I can only imagine this will get even better with age.
So for all of you out there who have bought a "correctly sized" Aero, or even "sized down" for that tailored fit--->and have been unhappy with the comfort, my suggestion would be to "size up". I feel like it worked for me. What do you guys (and gals) think?
Also, I have two more questions?

- What do you guys wear with your black CR jackets? Button down? T-Shirt? Sweater? Henley?
- How long has it take you (those of you who have) to get that coveted creasing, moulding, and distressing on your black FQHH Aeros?
