Not anymore! Try Make Your Own Jeans (www.makeyourownjeans.com) and have them made custom! High waisted and wide legged? No problem. Black denim? Yep they got that too. I've heard good things about this company so far and I placed my order two weeks ago. Today I just recieved and email advising me that they are being shipped - excellent service. They even offer a 'cloning' service and will make a copy of your favourite pair. Sounds good to me! Looking forward to the results in the mail this week.

I was looking around that site yesterday and liked what I saw. I got as far as measuring and choosing the style I wanted, then got to the checkout. Somehow, as I was sending payment info, there was a problem. I may try again, though. Jeans are so picky to get a right fit, I think it would be worth it. Did you see the brown linen pants? I think they would be very nice.

Please do tell us how it goes! I just found that site the other day. I'm hoping to try them out soon because I have never had a damn pair of jeans fit me right ever. Probably because I'm curvy but booty impaired, and then jeans just look sloppy on me. And I can't ever find high waisted jeans that don't look like 'mom jeans' too. I love my glamour, but I just long for the day where I can throw a pair of jeans on. Its been a year or so since I even owned a pair!

Well good new ladies the jeans arrived safe and sound within three weeks of ordering. They do indeed fit as requested with the correct size waist, buttons not a zip and they are quite high. They are very comfortable but I think I would have requested a slightly wider leg and they style I chose seems to taper in just a bit at the bottom. I also requested them long enough to turn up and this was fine. Ok now the bad news, well it's no tradgedy but beware that they automatically process the jeans in a wash that fades the denim. You will see this noted on the site when you look at the types of denim offered. It will say that they are pre washed to reduce shrinkage etc. For me this was a shame as I was buying the Black 14 oz. heavy denim (I'm a bit of an old goth at heart and I do not do 'blue' if I can avoid it) which looked good on the website but when the jeans arrived they were more a slate gray and not as black as I would have preferred with out resorting to 'over-dyed' denim. So just be aware of the fabric descriptions to avoid disappointment.

So all in all the jeans are a great fit and they are made to your specifications so be as detailled in your description as possible. For me, I have a small waist and big hips and therefore store bought jeans are intollerable. Make Your Own Jeans is a great ideal for creating vintage style jeans or just to get yourself a pair that fits well for knocking around in with the normals. I would definitly shop with them again and I have asked them about the black denim, would they be willing not to process the jeans to avoid too much fading. I'll keep you posted if I get a reply. Happy Shopping!

Thanks for the great link/infor Pandora.
I have been having a life long battle with jeans. For the past four years I actually was a little slimmer than my norm, so one of the first smaller sized items I bought was a pair of jeans. It was the first time in my life, save for the length which can be fixed, that I could fit into store brand jeans. But, much to my dismay, I've put on a few pounds (I'm on steroids, so it's really not my fault. All of those cookies just jumped into my mouth!:)). So now, all of my "skinny" jeans no longer fit. I don't wear jeans that often. But, on a day like today when it is 14 degrees, jeans are more comfortable. I will definitely be getting a pair of these custom made jeans.

Now, on the topic of jeans, I have found one style that does work for my shape. I'm short, smaller in the waist, bigger in the back side:(. Anyway, although I am not a fan of The Gap ( I just don't like the quality of their clothes, but that's another thread entirely), I have found that their Long and Lean fits quite well. They aren't as high waisted as I like, but they aren't the typical low rise. They are a straight leg, not boot cut. I get the ones with a little spandex in them so they have enough stretch to fit over my butt, while still being smaller in the waist. Also, they have recently dropped the prices on all of their denim. They also come in a pretty dark blue, and in ankle length which is their version of petite. These jeans fit almost like a trouser, they are the closest I have found to a decent fitting and looking pair of jeans. And for $50, in comparison to other brand jeans, they are a steal. So there's my jean recommendation, for those who would like a pair that will fit well and won't cost a bundle.

Did you ever try the version Queen of Heartz makes? They might be too high-waisted as you are more petite than I, but as someone who has the same build (little waist, round--er--rear) this jeans fit like a dream. The fabric is not too heavy either, which makes them more comfortable then a modern denim.

The custom jeans sound nice; too bad some of the color washed out though. I am a fan of dark blue denim so I'd prefer it if they stayed the original color as well:)

Thanks Jitterbug:) I've never heard of that brand before. Gonna do some searching on line to see if I can find them. I like higher waisted jeans, not only because of the vintage look of them but also because they make my shorter legs look a little longer. I'll do anything to make these stumps look more like legs:)

I second the Queen of Heartz vote, I absolutely love mine. The only thing is that with the material being quite thin I'm having an embarrassing problem where the seam up the back (middle of bum) seems to be pulling apart a bit and I'm not sure how to fix it. It's not actually come apart at all but it's been stretched a bit. It might not get any worse though, fingers crossed. Perhaps I did put an inch on my bum after xmas! lol

I agree, I find that the long and lean jeans fit pretty well. I sit all day at work, so I want my jeans to be comfortable, and not cut off the circulation!!lol

This is so awesome it hurts.

I have ONE good pair of jeans, and they annoy me because they flare out slightly, and are otherwise perfect (dark denim, sit at natural waist). Everything else sits in the wrong place and bags in the wrong place.

I actually prefer skirts to jeans, but they do better at an all-day drawing class when messing about with charcoal and ink and sitting on the floor.

I'm going to try the jeans from these websites. I loathe the jeans they sell in stores now. They are skintight and ride on the lowest part of your pelvis. And with my straight build, they still manage to bag in the bum :(

Liked the Queen of Hearts link, especially the vintage BSA bike in the background of some of the shots. Got one of those myself and is a great accessory for my denim collection too. Can't say for sure if all the denim from Make Your Own Jean is faded, Idon't think so I guess I just picked on that fads in the process. They do warn you about it the write up for the denim selection - they have quite a few to choose from. Worls out to a similar price as Queen of hearts.

Oooh, I'm totally ordering a pair! And so inexpensive, too!

I have a horrible time finding jeans. I have a true hourglass figure, so a small waist and larger hips and bottom - and jeans today just are NOT cut for that. I'm also quite petite, so even the shortest petite inseam is usually too long. Quite literally I only have two usable pair of jeans right now (wide legs with cuffs on the bottom), and one good pair of black cords. I've been dying for something that isn't super mega low-rise or the dreaded pencil tapered leg. I can't wait to try these!

Fortunately for me I've found a brand of designer jeans that fit me perfectly: sass & bide. They are tight, low rise and long, exactly what I like if I must wear jeans. I have them in dark blue, white and stone. They are really called skinny jeans ( wow! skinny jeans in a vintage forum  lol ) but yes, they fit good and I recommend them.
