When I first received this jacket a week ago, it was so stiff I was afraid to try it on for fear of breaking it in half! So for several days I gave it multiple applications of Leatherique rejuvenator. This is the emergency stuff, (Aero used to sell it) I estimate another 6 months and the dreaded DRY ROT would have taken hold. It darkens and will erase any patina but this didn't have any to speak of. It appears to have never been worn. It is completely intact save for the iridescent viscose lining which is disintegrating from age. It looks to be either a wartime pp, or soon after. Could it have been made by one of the contractors? Anyway, a new lining and knits and I'll be one happy camper....
