It's a different feeling for sure. if only it could talkJeez, I can't imagine finding dead stock like that. Stunning.
Bowen, agreed wholeheartedly. I've never seen a liner like this before. It's so unique, and the execution is nothing short of artHey Justin:
I lost count a long time ago of how many one of a kinds you have presented.
The iridescent liner had to be a total mind blower back in that day. Still is.
Most outstanding again!! Keep em flyin!!
Be well. Bowen

Bill,Careful of that sweatband Justin. If the thread was rotted and going to give way, I suppose it would have happened after a couple of wearings. But that type of attachment is so fragile. Thanks for sharing an amazing hat!

That has got to be the prettiest liner yet!1910s Geo I Eakle.
Hat is flawless. I believe it to be deadstock as it came from a store that closed in the 1980s, and was found among quite a few other hats bearing the same store name "Geo I Eakle". From what i could find, Geo began in 1910.
If it is true, than it is an interesting feeling being the first owner in over 100 years.
The hat is insanely light, green in color, and "Genuine Beaver" felt. The brown discoloration is from another hat sitting on it but that is the only issue.
The liner is a deep green with purple shining through. it looks as though both color threads were used. I've never seen it before but the color shift is mesmerising
i wish i could video and show how the colors shift around. It's so neatThat has got to be the prettiest liner yet!

That is an amazingly understated piece.University Club late 1930s-1940
Found only one reference on the lounge to another hat with this mark - once owned by Dinerman. No success in research other than the store in Milwaukee closed in 1977 with the retirement of the owners. Simple hat with educated style, unusual light mint green/gray color and narrow ribbon. Shows no sign of having been sold or worn. Open crown 5 1/4", brim 2 3/8". 3/4" ribbon, 2" unreeded sweatband. Color is accurate in the last photo.
which Robert are you trying to reach. if it is RLK, he has not posted in a long time, sadlyRobert,
I've been a long-time lurker on the forum and read a lot of your stuff. One question about a past post: didn't you ask about a Stetson vicuña felt from an old trademark? It might have been a few years back, I tried searching back to find the original post but did not.

Every time I look at this hat I see something different to appreciate. That treatment of the back bow is soooooo cool! Covet.1920s Schoble Summer Felt "SKIMP"
it is a different treatment for sure. i have one other hat of european origin with a backbow. they used quality ribbon and the fraying was done to show this. Common to see on early examples. this one is a deadstock piece, so that kept the wear way downI had to do a triple -take on that hat band "bow" (or whatever that would be called). How the HECK did that grosgrain ribbon not fray after nearly 100 years??
i agree my man, that back bow is something else. An instant favorite. i truly with there was a way to let y'all feel the hand to the felt. extremely lightEvery time I look at this hat I see something different to appreciate. That treatment of the back bow is soooooo cool! Covet.
