Post Your Worn-In Jackets, Let's See That Grain and Patina!

They're my favorite cross zips and I never even saw one in real life. But overall, having some experience with these jackets or rather, with my personal preference regarding these jackets, I'd say these are my favorite and by a long shot. Every detail is perfect.

You have solidified your position as the TFL Prophet. If you find one that works, don’t hesitate. You are totally right bud.

Sometimes you just cannot help but know. Seriously though, when I'm doodling what my perfect cross zip would look like, I always draw this jacket. Often without realizing it at first. Down to the army style epaulets!

The A1 epaulets are the cherry one top. Love that look on MC jackets. The early Cals had them too. I had Dena reinforce that area and a couple of others.

I’ll keep an eye out. These jackets are really nice. The leather is tops and there is variation in the hardware and labels. For guys like us, that is a good reason for another, and another.

Amazing. Words aren’t necessary. Look at that jacket!

Edit: That one has some teacore stuff going on. I don’t think mine is like that. You think the ones with the blackened hardware, like mine, have leather to match?

I just confirmed the current ebay jacket 22 inch is measured like mine.

This jacket has a very different leather. Side by side will really show it. Does not have the same insane, Shinki like grain/

What label does the “Shinki” one have?

Yeah, I can get into a 22” but I shouldn’t try. Most I see are in that range or smaller. When I saw and verified the 24”, I pounced without considering any issues the jacket may have. Luckily it was minor stitching and easily fixed. Not really necessary but Dena had a bunch of my jackets. Your original Sportclad was the reason I did that. So thanks.

I can get on this 22, but way too small through the middle.

I have not measured my 46 it is identical to the smaller one, with the same late 40s zippers and ring pulls. The current ebay jacket has diamond pulls and the Kurland Horsehide label.

This is my 46

That jacket is amazing. Mine has the grainy hide and the Kurland/Star label. With the S/C in the corner.

Something different. 1930s german Sport jacket. Labels weren´t often used back then. Many jackets were tailored for the buyer by family companies. Has Rapid zippers.

Awesome jacket. I love this style. Tried to find something like this myself but these are virtually impossible to find in a decent size (and condition). This was the last one I spotted. 18.5 ptp :(

These are both very appealing. What era? What leathers? Quite small sizes?

These two row button style jackets were popular in Germany from the 30s till the mid 50s. The later ones featured those braided epaulettes. In the 60s most of the jackets had zippers, either single or double breasted. The straps/buckles were replaced by gathered sides. He's an example of one of those, now listed on German ebay.
