“All things come to those who wait” This one took some patience but it has now arrived and it is spectacular. An early Stetson Stratoliner in light powder blue Vita Felt. A wonderfully light weight unlined hat checking in at 86 grams. The thin felt presents a sleek sharp crease. It includes the super cool embroidered Stratoliner tip patch and beautiful blue rear sweat seam bow. This was the hat I was bidding on when I fell and nearly crashed through my sliding glass door a few weeks back. An ideal combination of weight, color, styling and shape that should definitely have this be a daily wear kinda hat for me but will also have me battling the urge to want to “save” this one for special occasions.

Thanks Alan. I thought there was a real good chance there would be a LOTXXXX on this one but no dice. So I’m guessing with that patch and the vitafelt would put it between 42 and mid 40s?

I’ll post it over in the Stratoliner vintage thread. I see you have a few wonderful examples yourself.

The felt color is a very light powder or pale sky blue... my phone camera wanted to photograph it a much richer blue tone that I tried to color correct as best I could. But I thought I would include the original ones just for fun.

I think this is the first vintage hat that is more sky or light blue than grey-blue. My Royal Stetson looks blue in some pics, but then more grey-blue in others.

This one may too. Really depends on light. Indoors I see more grey in it than outdoor. Amazing how much the color shifts on yours!

I need to pull out my Musketeer which has some pale blue tone to it as well to compare.

Dobbs Harris Tweed

This Dobbs warm tone Harris tweed was one of the travel mates of my powder blue Strat. Probably would not have been something I would pick up on its own but I really like the color on this tweed. It is a tan warm tone base with bits of green, yellow, oranges, reds, browns and blue.
