Time to put the homburg nation back in front. More and more people here on the lounge are pulled in so it seems. Here's a lovely new addition to my collection I bought this week. I handled it three times before and left it, because it's another black homburg and feels slightly tight. But it was still there this time and apparently it was meant to be. Scotson homburg in black, size 56. Brim at 6cm and crown 11cm at the pinch. Lovely feel to the felt and it has some of the springy-ness I know from my nutria hat. The liner has that fine detail the older hat-liners have. English make and imported into Finland. The label doesn't ring a bell.

Picked up this Stephen L Stetson Homburg on Ebay. A little brushing and steaming and it cleaned up pretty well. I decided to go with the open crown to give it that Bat Masterson Old West look.

That looks great with the open crown! The brim looks good too. Good work, you wear it well.

Echt Velour "Quality Velour Seal", 57cm, probably mid to late 1930s. Not sure what company made it but it came with another Velour from Friedrich Steinberg Hermann & Co. (STECO) Hat Factory Luckenwalde (East Germany) so they might be the source. The "Quality Velour Seal" felt color is a fantastic + unique Tobacco (Tabak) color with a great finish and hand. Also a interesting bow design and two tone liner.

Stetson Promotional (no name non-catalogued) Royal DeLuxe open crown in Caribou. The felt is soft and exactly the same as my Premier Royal DeLuxe Stratoliners. Not sure if I'll keep the leather hat band or replace it with a grosgrain ribbon. The brown leather sweat is plain without so much as a crest. There also isn't anything under the sweat. This was a new in the box hat bought on eBay. No regrets so far. The box stated the brim is 3" but it's actually between 2 1/2 and 2 5/8.

The first wear after I popped a diamond crease into it last night.

Gorgeous looking felt, Daniele. And the most unusual bow I have ever seen.
