Way better !! It was a nice hat, now it looks even better !View attachment 79623
New to me O'Farrell recreased to my liking.
Know the feeling !!! Both are great !! Lil Fed will be very happy !Once again, I'll say: I sure wish I could find hats like these in my size! I got 2 fedoras for my daughter's upcoming b-day... A Knox Tom 'n' Jerry that, hands down, has the best felt I've ever experienced. Ever. It's lightweight, velvety, super malleable and can be creased anyway you want, although it like a diamond. I'm so tempted to send it straight to an expert hatter to see if it can be made into a loose 7-3/8 or a tight 7-1/2! Oh my heavens to Betsy Ross!
Second is a mint Stetson blue heathered felt, sans liner, perfect sweat, triple-stitched little beauty. Again, what a super sweet little hat!
Embroidered liner:
That is just perfect !! Love the shade, crease !! Congrats Bro !!Do you all really need to see these pictures again...? Lol. Ok. If so, not full image.
Stetson "High Crown" Excellent Quality Whippet, in "Phantom Grey." Concieved and designed by Matt Deckard exclusively for the Stetson Japanese market. Factory creased. "Its actually a copy of an open crown hat I made for myself" according to Matt. Its boxy crown block was based on a wide oval platform and then put to the specs of one of Matts original hats that he previously created/creased/and pinched for himself as his own personal hat. Stetson actually liked that hat so much (when they saw him wearing it) they asked him to duplicate it for a production run to be targeted for the overseas (Japanese) market. "They saw it on my head and wanted it" says Matt. Whether it will be made avaliable here or is in fact still avaliable (in Japan) is unkown at this time... Matt had to figure out the "logistics" for this beauty from conception and once there, Stetson had to create the molds and block. According to Matt, it's the first new block/mold Stetson has made in "well maybe 30 years" says Matt. A Stetson rep (Jeff Dyer) doesn't know if it will be in the new Stetson 2018 Fall/Winter catalog but has refered to this original Deckard Whippet as a "treasure." This truly is an all original design from Matt Deckard when he was Head Designer for Stetson. I'm proud to own one of his creations. Hope you enjoy seeing it! (Once again.)
Real nice, I hope I could get hats like those down in Mexico. What a beauty.Obligatory head shots (I really need selfie lessons)

DHL just delivered this beauty, a semi-calado from Montecritis, Ecaudor (more pics in The Panama Hat Thread):
That's the one!Dayum! Is that the one you were conflicted over because the weaver's name is in it? Love it!
Out of all the images of every hat and hat body that you brought out of the country that Eduardo Aspiazo (?) is by far the nicest looking hat I've seen. That's the one!
Thanks, Bob. I think so, too. Very fine work with a real nice pattern in the crown. It's certainly more impressive in hand.Out of all the images of every hat and hat body that you brought out of the country that Eduardo Aspiazo (?) is by far the nicest looking hat I've seen.
