And they have a great selection of really nice/unusal hat body colors. So I'm guessing that becuz of the color and the vendor it's a FEPSA Beaver hat body.

I was so looking forward to receiving this one. Listed as a green 30's Penney's Marathon Extra Quality 7 3/8. It sat for over a month in my watch list, finally I ordered it after I let thst beat up Whippet go last week. It got here a few minutes ago, I pulled it out of the box only to find that it's a size 7.

Here's pics anyway.

I was so stoked to see the spiral stitched brim, then I put it on....sent in a return request. Hope it doesn't turn into a huge hassle.

Thats a shame it ended up being so small. You might consider just putting it up for sale on the lounge though, its a beautiful old hat and i'm sure theres a size 7 on the lounge, myself included who'd happily take it off your hands.

That's a cool hat Moe.... I love the concentric stitching. How disappointing.... sorry man. Looking at the listing I would guess the mis-measurement was an honest mistake. He's probably not a hat guy.I doubt you will have any trouble returning it.

Thanks for the sympathy, guys. It is a mega bummer. I had wanted a spiral-stitch for a while, seeing it on this hat just made it worse.
Yeah, the upsizing was just a thought, although my old Young's was a 7 and my OR was a 6 7/8, the Young's was thrashed and the OR is a late 60's. This one is just too old and in nice shape to take apart. If the seller balks I'll just try selling it here.

My new Stetson Stetsonian arrived today. Kudos to Delmonico Hatters for good service. They made it a long oval, as I requested, and the fit is perfect.




The felt was a bit stiffer and thicker than I had expected, much more so than the Premier Stratoliner I bought last year. It took a bit of work with a steam kettle to get it to take shape. I stuck a quick version of a diamond bash in it.


This is a good, substantial hat with classic proportions. I like it a lot.

Congratulations! That Stetsonian is a real big, thick, strong hat. I got one from Delmonico last year and it took me a long time to work it and block it to satisfaction. It looks great on you! Enjoy....

Adding to the new hat Stetson hit parade, my new lid arrived this afternoon as well. I was looking to replace a hat that I passed on to my lawyer and life long buddy some years ago. It was a common Caribou Temple. While surfing the web, much to my surprise, I found that Stetson made the exact same hat in beaver felt. They named the beaver version the "Pinnacle"

The beaver is very nice. I am quite impressed with the weight and general construction of this hat. A nice upgrade to an old standard.

eBay Akubra Colly. Purchased with the hat band and strap installed. I only later found out that the band and strap are David Morgan exclusive products, and are together worth almost as much as the hat.
