Well, whether as built or a vintage "quirk" of aging, it looks great! Can't wear it due to size I presume, bummer. Is it a true 7 1/8 or has it shrunk?
I measure it between 22 1/8 and 22 1/4 so I guess I would call it a tight 7 1/8 right?

Ive never seen a regular ST. Regis homburg to have black felt with dark purple/magenta brim binding though.
I think you did a great job!! Congratulations! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap
Thank you, Kaonashi. Im diggin it!
No pics tonight, but I bought a great quality black Stetson Nostalgia at the Outlet in Garland today. They are running a sale of $20 off any felt dress hat. I got it for $39.00 from $59. The sale runs through January, so if you are close it might be worthwhile to swing by if you like modern Stetsons too.
I'm gonna chime in here, too. Scotty, that is an awesome looking porkpie. I can't explain it...feng shui and all that...but it just looks right. Whatever ya did, ya did good :eusa_clap.
Sounds about right. That would probably bbe tight on me too, and I wear a 7 1/8.I measure it between 22 1/8 and 22 1/4 so I guess I would call it a tight 7 1/8 right?
A Nostalgia? That's an incredible price! Calling them tomorrow (hope they've got Caribou in my size). When I called a week or two ago, they hadn't seen any Nostalgia's yet they said.No pics tonight, but I bought a great quality black Stetson Nostalgia at the Outlet in Garland today. Does that work with phone orders too?

From what they told me, same pricing in person or by mail (plus shipping of course). Prices I did get, an Open Road was $110 and a Whippet was $75. Both REALLY good deals!
Got the 1950's/60's Faux Fur Tyrolean/Fedora that I have been looking for. My Dad and Grandfather both wore hats like this in the winter. No one seems to know what it is called. It has ear flaps too, but I did not use them today when I snow blowed the driveway.Jeff
It definitely has an Italian Alpine look. The side flaps especially. Here is a modern TONAK.
Great looking hats at their sight. Who does one buy them from in the USA? I would like to get a nice Tyrolean style hat.
