Scientific Hat Finishing also mentions using blocking cord tacked to the top of the block: https://archive.org/details/scientifichatfin00erma/page/78/mode/2up
Nice Bob.A new-to-me Royal Stetson. It’s in great shape with just a minor stain on the liner. I guess late 1950s / early 1960s.

Interesting crease along the center of the crown. I’d be “hard pressed” to replicate it.

The box has the usual disintegrated cellophane wrapper bits. What I call “Stetson Glitter”.

And the 7-3/8 LO fits!
That's a winner, Joe. I like the four-sided crease.View attachment 449490
Stetson 3X Beaver Quality
Approx 4 7/8 crown as shaped
3/8 Tri-Cord Ribbon
3 inch brim with bound edge
Embroidered Last Drop liner with oil skin tip protector
I did not notice in the seller’s photos, but turns out this Stetson 3X Beaver Was creased with its pinch to the rear. Being that the crease was fairly sharp and seemed to be there for some time… I decided to go with it… but add my own front pinch to create my take on a 4 corners pinch…. Maybe a reverse 4 corner. The color I’d say is slightly darker than most of my Silverbelly hats. But it really does shift depending on light. From a tan.. to off white yellowish… to almost bone. I believe early to mid 50s on this one with the embroidered last drop liner oil skin tip and reorder tag.
Thanks go out to @BobHufford for the heads up on this one.

Thank you Stefan. I do really like how it came out. Especially from the front and even more so the side. It can create some weird angles, though, when not viewed straight on, where the crown looks almost pointy. But I think it is one of those things that are not as apparent in real life.. but in photos can look maybe a bit off. That's a winner, Joe. I like the four-sided crease.
Very much so Very nice. Not too dissimilar from Joe’s @Blare 3X. 6” open crown, 3” bound brim, and three-cord western ribbon:

Your modern Panizza President does indeed look like one of the better ones. I have one not so good.
It's in a box somewhere. I'll try and find it.Do you have a picture of that one Steve?
Wow. That color.A beater Penney’s Marathon. The original 1948 receipt was behind the sweatband. I will probably leave the staining as-is and perhaps toss the name Johnny Depp around (as there is a hole at the pinch) when listing it.
