Stetson Twenty Five - The Open Road

Stetson Twenty Five - The Open Road
Silverbelly
4 3/8 crown as shaped - about 5 1/4 open
3/8 light golden grosgrain ribbon
2 1/2 brim with 1/8 matching binding

I’m really happy with this latest arrival... Stetson Twenty Fine Open Road. It has a real nice feel to it... shapes very well and has a nice profile. No paper tag under the sweat... I was thinking early to mid 60s. (Editing myself... mid 1950s) If anyone has anymore insight on age. A few small blemishes here and there in the felt nothing significant.. A bit of an abrasion in one small area of the brim binding and the wind trolley has been removed. But all and all I am really happy with this hat. It fits and feels great... I suspect it will get a good amount of wear.

Great hat, Joe. It blows me away that the brim is only 2 1/2” wide: it sure looks a lot wider, but the I have to account for proportions. It’s a timeless style and I’m glad it found the right owner.

Picked up the Homburg used a week or so ago. Just got it cleaned up a little. Just bought the two straws getting ready for the summer months. One is a Sunbody RB's hat that I dressed up a little with a beaded hatband and the other is a Stetson open road.

Nice Stetson Joe. Those vintage OR's are sure lookers.

A new to me post-war Woodrow bowler in Radium (mid-grey indoors and I would call it silver-grey in direct sun). A great hand on this one - very smooth - and very thin. In fact, this is the first bowler I've handled I would actually call a feather weight. I don't have scales but I'm certain this unlined, thin felt is 1/3 less weight than other, traditional lined bowlers I have in my collection. One picture is with my C&K bowler and my Kaller bowler. As you can see, while the sides are curved more agressively on the Woodrow, all the dimensions are about 1/4 inch less than the other two examples. The crown may even be 1/2 inch shorter.

Fits great and looks good. Like some panama's, it is so light I hardly know I'm wearing it.

A huge Thank You to my friend, Stafan @steur for letting me be the caretaker of this great London hat. :)

P. & C. Habig Wien "Export Qualität", early 1950s. The felt is heavy in weight but still easily hand creases. The sweatband is really fantastic with very nice P. & C. Habig Wien stamping. As usually the overall quality and form are of the highest order. This hat was made for the famous A. Breiter München hat store (still in business today).

Great looking Homburg E.T. You rock the look. I saw you wearing in the other thread. Nice couple of straws, too. Really digging the Open Road.

Sweet looking Woodrow, Randy. A nice addition. That color is something else altogether! Really steps it up a notch. Looks good on you.
