I went back and got a summer straw from a local shop today, a $10 vented parabuntal that has been sticking in my head for several weeks now.

Also picked up a couple on ebay, a sweet, soft velour Tonak and my first Open Road, a Royal Stetson with a great hand.

This one came today.

Mac Lachlan homburg. It was sold by the venerable Rogers Peet Company.

Black color
7 1/4" size
6" crown
2" brim

The embossed word "BROMLEY" on the sweatband has me curious, since the hat was sold through a relatively high-end establishment. I wonder if that is the model name or the last name of the purchaser that the seller embossed onto the hat. In the MacLachlan thread, there is a similar vintage homburg with "DUKE" on the sweatband.

This one arrived a couple of days ago. It's somewhat of a mystery. The eBay listing called it a Whippet, I knew it wasn't form looking at the pics posted in the ad (The brim binding is too small and the band is also too small), I bought it anyway because I couldn't resist the color and the bound brim/hat band with a nice contrast. It's a modern Stetson Sovereign quality with a very nice velour finish. The brim is 2 3/8" and the hat band is about 1 1/2". One of the pics is what is left of the sticker! If any one could ID the model... that would be cool.

It appears the "Kemo Sabe" logo on the sweat represents the store the hat was sold through. I don't see that style of Stetson on their website currently, but if you contact them they might be able to provide whatever information you're looking for.

The crown is a little too tapered for my tastes, but otherwise I really like that hat!

Incredible Matt. Aside from it being just a beautiful Homburg, it has the distinction of being a rare bird as well. Envy, covet, lust...

I would think today's PC would have done away with a store named Kemo Sabe, so probably at least a few years old.

Carl Jacob Halle a/S., measures 57cm, probably WWI era maybe later. No company mark but probably made by one of the hat companies in Guben or Luckenwalde. Currently I can't make out the symbol above Carl Jacob on the liner. It has a over welt brim with a slightly offset smaller scale bow and a unique shinny lime green liner. The Velour is in very good condition and has a very nice glossy finish and fine hand.

Sheez!!
All these years and i thought Kemo Sabe was Tonto for “whatever you say Boss”. But then again i’m still working on what “PC” means. Sheez!!
B

Well, Bowen I'm with you on the PC thing. We live in a world of the easily offended and tonto is Spanish for fool. Tonto didn't seem to mind but as Lyle Lovett sang he did one day tell kemo sabe to kiss his ass.
