Royal Deluxe heathered two-tone. I need to comb through the Stetson ads thread to see if this model had a name. It has suffered at the teeth of critters to an extent, but fortunately not too bad and in out of the way locations (below the ribbon and behind the reed.

Very nice felt. Soft, dense, and easily shaped. This one took some steaming and brushing, but I think a bath may be in order when we get some warmer weather.

Looks to be in pretty good shape overall. Loved the two tone felt when I saw it on Ebay. Glad it went to a good home.

Okay good. I asked because I really like the result of the block shape and crease.

Thanks! I love this weathered look. I attempted to make the brim look a bit uneven as well. A story behind the hat, its been somewhere. I probably have more pictures of it in my store (not trying to push you there). It's the honestly the type of hat I want to wear myself. Just did not make one for me yet. I fit better in a shorter brim. Will try to make one with a 6 cm brim instead and slightly shorter sides.

@steur

A couple more pics. The first shows the wafering in the brim edge. The second shows some lighter grey on the underside of the brim exposed by moth grazing. It looks like dirt or a stain, but it's not. It's the lighter color peeking through.

Jim, thanks! I was wondering how they did that. This seems to be the most efficient way to do it.

Hückel Weilheim "Chevreau", 58cm probably late 1950s early 1960s. This one is in NOS condition. I have a "Chamois" with a similar small Blue Jay(?) feather so not sure if they came with the hats.

Wow, thats nice. Can you feel the two letters from the sweatband when you wear the hat? Looks like they are sticking out a bit. Interesting design.

Thanks! I can't feel the letters when I wear the hat. I guess they could be an issue if they are touching skin directly. I can't remember seeing any placed at the front of the sweatband. These letter pins were popular and are still in use today in Germany and other European countries. They were also used in America up to the 1920s maybe a bit later. Personally I would rather not have them or any initial on the sweatband but with Vintage / Antique Hats you have to take what you are dealt. :)

Very interesting, I have not seen the style before. Thanks for sharing, I keep learning a lot from you. :)
