Sweet hat. Looks like it is well made and in great shape. A custom hatter of the era from Texas?

I believe so but I've so far been unable to locate much information on this particular hatter.

The felt is incredible quality. Similar hand as a late 50s Stetson Sovereign that I own. I really dig this hat.

Looks like it might have been from Harry Coffee's clothing store in Fresno or Bakersfield, CA.

Not my size so I'll probably put it up on the 'Bay at some point for someone who needs a project.

I'd say mid 50s ... the early side of the mid 50s ... if that makes any sense

It is indeed a project. A real barn (Chicken Coop) find. There is a beauty in there somewhere! This should be a fun ride.

The sweat is still flexible with a some micro-cracks starting at a few stitches. Some Bick-4 should help.

Thanks for prompting me to look at mine. Also from Woolf Bros. Slightly more restrained customer personalization. Woolf had a store in the historic Country Club Plaza in Kansas City near Jack Henry (seller of the homburg I posted earlier this week). Cool beans!

ps... Brad once said that Frank wore his in Cavanagh.
