Any news and or "goss" on this jacket gents ? For sale on Aussie ebay.
Hence no "global shipping" to contend with. Explains my interest.
The ask is $425 AUD or around $300 USD.
Size "XL" , does anyone have experience to put that into 42/44/46 or whatever.
Sellers photos sorry. The jacket is "MADE IN CHINA" reduces my confidence some.
2 way main zipper , looks "robust" enough I reckon.
It has a kinda "Highwayman" vibe I suppose
I did not put it in the finds and deals thread as I am considering it myself.
Do I 'need' it ? Well SHIT NO but when did that stop us ?

In my opinion, this is way too expensive. The polo jeans brand was Ralph Lauren's entry level product line (now succeeded by 'ralph lauren denim & supply'). Quality is very poor.

Thankyou Sir for that quick reply. That's the beauty of the forum. I do notice when you do an ebay search worldwide for Ralph Lauren leather jacket the variations can be HUGE ! From $250 Australian to $2,250 !

That's because quality between RL brandlines and even within a brandline varies a lot. Some older jackets are horsehide and made in USA (RRL brandline). Some are calfskin made in Italy (purple / black label brandline). Some are calfskin made in China / India (polo, polo jeans, denim supply, recent RRL).

Not keen on RL leather jackets full stop, but the Polo blazers I have are generally among their higher quality stuff- often made in Italy but sometimes in Asia. I have had 6 corduroy Polo blazers and the quality is super excellent. Other RL items I have seen are not great, especially more recent offerings. They have degrees of quality. That leather jacket looks like a Chinese special to me. Sorry Cobber.

Cheers Seb mate. If it looks too good to be true it probably is ! The jacket is made in China I am sure.

I was going to say exactly what @Marc mndt said.

We don't have many stores that carry RL here so I wasn't even aware they had different "levels" until I looked into the brand a bit a while ago.

Give it a miss, the reason the pictures don't make the jacket look good is it probably doesn't look that good period.

Thanks ProteinNerd. Opinion appreciated.

I already have 2 Schott variants , AKA "Euro Schott" and both are actually quite good. Country of manufacture not declared.

That's why I was thinking of having a stab at this . It is for sure too dear all things considered.

HOWEVER I have bought (Scottish made) Aero and ( USA made) Schott for $400 USD before now. Used jackets of course.

ALL my other Schott jackets are UNION MADE IN THE USA and I like them all , even the fair few I have sold on.

It looks an older jacket to me and in my experience they tended to be quite generously sized then and the quality not so good, would think an XL could be a 46 or larger.

I've picked up a couple of very nice RL jackets second hand but I haven't paid very much for them, the name just doesn't hold the crazy prices they sell things for.
